A robust perennial with rich green spear shaped leaves held very much erect. Each leaf arises from a swollen rootstock in mid spring. The whole plant - flowers stems included, reach a height of around 100 cms or so. Flowers are a bit variable in colour from white through to lilac with maybe yellow in there as well!
