A robust perennial with rich green spear shaped leaves held very much erect. Each leaf arises from a swollen horizontal rhizome in mid spring. This cultivar reaches a height of around 20 cms high. Flowers are held on short stems, each bearing one or two flowers and lasting for several weeks each. Rich violet purple/blue with white marks.
