An attractive evergreen perennial from the USA forming congested rosettes of pale green lance shaped foliage to 12cms long or more and 1 cm wide. A large flower bud begins to form in late winter which opens to allow the flower spike to extend to around 40cms high or so. The flowers are a strong pink colour, star shaped with narrow petals, each is held on the flower spike and opening in succession.
