Gladiolus tristis

This is a wintergreen bulb from South Africa which will flower in late winter and then go dormant through the summer. the leaves are tall and a bit grass-like although they are quite upright initially. flowers rise in mid to late winter and are a pale creamy-yellow in colour. Smaller than the typical border Gladioli in flower but just as many are produced per stem. Needs a reasonably well drained spot in full sun.
