Found in the gardens at Straffan House in Ireland in the late 1800's. Regarded as a good garden plant for its vigour and flower size. Narrow glaucous foliage makes the backdrop for the good sized flowers with the usual 'V' mark on the inner tepals. Sometimes two flowers are produced per bulb!
