An attractive herbaceous bulbous plant which besides attractive flowers has interesting foliage. This emerges in early spring and is strongly marked with brown spots on pale silvery green spoon-shaped leaves. The foliage is soon followed by the flower stems. Flowers are a clean white in colour and borne on relatively short stems, the petals reflex back strongly.
Similar in most respects to Snowflake or White Splendour but this is a subspecies, not a hybrid.
