A completely hardy terrestrial orchid from the US. Liking a moist situation in light shade and a soil of moderate fertility, this orchid will start into growth in mid spring. Leaves are lanceolate and deeply furrowed, pale green and around 8 inches long clasping the rigid stem which will rise to around 35 cms or so. The flowers are the obvious main attraction an these are borne at the stem terminus, around 15 in number. Best look at the picture for their appearance! Easy in moist situations. Stream Orchid.
