This species is evergreen in all but the most severe of winters when it may lose its foliage. Leaves are fairly small and pointed to round with fine teeth to the edge. Flowers are borne in short racemes, are a clean yellow in colour, and hang pendulously from upright stems. Collected originally by Pere David in 1869.
