An herbaceous alpine plant from northwest USA with attractive foliage and flowers. Foliage rises in late winter or early spring and is bluish/green, around 7 cms long and 2 cms wide with unserrated edges. Flowers are borne a little later and are held on short 20 cm stems, up to around 5 on each stem. Colour is magenta pink with the stamens being prominently dark purple giving a good contrast.
Very similar to D. frigidum.
