An evergreen ground covering perennial although not quickly from japan. Glossy deep green foliage grows from short rhizomes throughout spring an early summer forming mats of growth to around 10 to 15 cms in height. Early spring sees the star-like white flowers appear just above the foliage which last for several weeks each. Very attractive and unusual plant which also has medicinal purposes.
