A highly attractive evergreen perennial which makes carpets of growth if planted in moist soils in shade. Foliage is scalloped and rounded, quite fleshy and covered with clear bristly hairs on both the upper and lower surfaces. Stems also add interest being bright red and also covered in hairs. Flowers are a yellowish-green and held in cymes above bract-like greenish-yellow leaves which last for many weeks after the flowers have gone.
