A striking species which we have in smaller numbers from time to time. Leaves emerge first as with other species and rise to a height of around 45 cms or so. These are digitate and rich green with numerous leaflets. Flowers are quite striking, held low to the ground and quite wide at around 7 cms or so in total. The outside of the spathe tube is whitish and the inside is a deep red-purple, the spadix being this colour also. Lasts for many weeks in cooler conditions.
