Foliage is deeply lobed and generally with a slight sheen, emerging in early spring shortly before the first flowers. Flowering starts almost immediately with the largest flush initially around June. Sporadic flowering then occurs throughout the summer months until autumn when the frost gets heavy. Easily grown in light shade where it will make a dense clump. A nice purple flowered form of the species with bigger flowers and foliage.
