A rarely offered species from Nepal and Tibet with flower stems reaching only 25 cms or so. The leaves are relatively rounded and toothed, making rosettes at ground level.
Flowers are white with mauve shading and held beneath bracts which are very showy. At flowering time the bracts are a creamy green but as the flowers fade, they slowly turn a reddish colour and persist until the seed is set.
