Foliage is evergreen just like other members of this group of plants (Helonias, Heloniopsis etc) and lanceolate, being pale green and around 12 cms long on large plants. These leaves make rosettes of growth and multiple rosettes will form to make a clump. The flowers form from the centre of each rosette on stems to around 5 inches high at first, this extends to around 45 cms as the flowers mature.
