Leaves are digitate and deep matte green with light purplish occasionally with speckles over the upper surface.   Flowers are deep brown or occasionally green a whit and the hood folds over the top of the flower. They tend to last a little longer than most Arisaemas. From 'Zazen' which is a form of Monk meditation - the flower is said to resemble a monk in meditation! Flowers are in the form of a spathe which is yellow on the upper half and greenish on the lower, with a yellow lid which is positioned over the upward facing mouth.
