Foliage is quite small for a Rhododendron, oval shaped, green and held on rigid stout stems up to a height of around 80 cms or so at maturity. Flowers are produced in early spring at the stem tips in dense clusters. These are widely funnel shaped, colour is bluish-purple a scent is present and they are waxy in texture. Suitable for the larger rock garden or shaded area in acid soil. The evergreen nature of these shrubs adds backbone to the garden especially throughout the winter months.
