Sea Holly. This is very similar to Blue Hobbit which is a good hybrid with umbels of prickly steel-blue flowers, which are a favourite for cutting and last a long time when fresh or dried. Excellent for the front of a standard herbaceous border or the rock garden where it's size will not overshadow other plants. The short stems produce metallic-blue sprays that remain attractive for weeks. In time plants will spread by seed to form a small colony. Easily divided in early spring. Tolerant of hot, dry situations in full sun.
Attractive to bees and butterflies.
